Mission Statement
Cypress Fitness is a group fitness and personal training center dedicated to helping clients achieve their health and fitness goals. The trainers at Cypress Fitness continuously strive for client satisfaction by providing personalized service using innovative and effective programming at a competitive price. Cypress Fitness is a fitness community with a focus on a clean, safe, and enjoyable training environment.


Trainer Bios


Brian Adams has always had a passion for wellness. He has been playing soccer since the age of 5 and continues to play in leagues around New Orleans. In 1998 Brian began studying Shaolin Martial Arts in San Diego, where he earned his BS in Biology from UC San Diego. After a brief hiatus he restarted Kung Fu and Tai Chi in 2001 and has been practicing and teaching ever since. Brian earned his 3rd degree black belt in 2010 and also holds a 1st degree black sash for internal martial arts such as Tai Chi. Brian has been helping teach adult group and private Kung Fu and Tai Chi classes for the past 8 years and in 2010 started an Uptown 
Kids’ Kung Fu Program. Brian obtained his AFAA Personal Trainer Certification in 2010 and in 2012 became a Certified Kettlebell Teacher under the IKFF. His training philosophy incorporates strength training through functional and compound movements and also focuses on coordination, balance, and cardiovascular fitness. Recently he has taught classes at various local gyms in the form of bootcamp, circuit training, kickboxing, strength training, and kettlebell classes. Before taking on fitness training full-time Brian moved up from an entry-level position to an assistant store manager position for Whole Foods Market. During that time he learned the importance of nutrition and diet in conjunction with physical activity. In his management role he also gained many leadership and mentoring skills and learned the value in promoting customer satisfaction as one of the essential cornerstones of any business.


Brandon Bergeron 
is an IKFF Certified Kettlebell Teacher, ACE Certified Personal Trainer, and has held prior certifications as a Maxbells Bodyweight Trainer and Red Cross Lifeguard. His interests also include martial arts, having experience in kung fu and currently practicing judo. Brandon believes both fitness and nutrition should be sustainable, enjoyable, and ultimately allow us to live our lives more fully. He is fond of large meals, long naps, and talking trash about cardio. Brandon also holds a MBA from the University of New Orleans.
 
Lauren Leitner, a Los Angeles native, loves working with group fitness and focusing on independent progress rather than competition. Lauren is a certified personal trainer , certified in YogaFit®, suspension training, Zumba and  has over 10 years of experience teaching indoor cycling in both Los Angeles and New Orleans. Exercising outdoors is one of her passions. She believes that people should venture outside more often in order to promote a sense of uninhibited connection between the inner self and nature.


Whether you are looking for guidance and motivation, or someone to challenge and push you to your limits, Caroline Croce will be sure to help you reach your fitness goals. She is certified through the National Academy of Sports Medicine and holds a Masters degree in Counseling. She has extensive knowledge with both the mental and physical aspects of training to help you reach new peaks and improve performance. Her philosophy centers on the powerful notions that the mind shapes the body and that diet and exercise can be fun and easy to maintain with the right formula. She maintains a down-to-earth approach that inspires people to make fitness a necessary habit, not a temporary fix. Her tough workouts combine strength, agility, speed, balance, flexibility and cardio endurance. She believes that fitness gives people the energy they need to live their lives!
 
 
As a multi-sport athlete and former dancer trained in ballet, jazz, and modern, Jamie Schmill comes to Cypress Fitness with a diverse athletic background and a passion for movement.   Jamie can frequently be found in a pair of quad roller skates as a member of the Big Easy Rollergirls.  Serving as both training director and Allstars team captain, she has been training aspiring athletes from couch to bout fitness for nearly five years.  She believes in the transformative power of fitness, agrees with Emerson that health is the first wealth, and considers fitness a practice of active gratitude.  She also agrees with Gandhi that strength is not merely physical but is the practice of indomitable will. Jamie holds bachelor’s degrees in dance and gender studies from Newcomb College of Tulane University and is currently completing her master’s degree in philosophy.   She holds prior certifications as a lifeguard and water safety instructor, is American Red Cross first-aid and CPR certified, and is currently working towards certification as an American College of Sports Medicine personal trainer.

Shamus Rohn is an IKFF Certified Kettlebell Teacher.  He has taught kettle bells and body weight strength training in group classes and individually for over two years.  He currently competes in triathlons, kettlebell sport competitions and grappling.  


Danny Evans has been an avid kettlebell lifter since 2004. He has trained with several high level RKC Instructors over the years. In Sept. 2009, he received his HKC Kettlebell Certification from Dragon Door (RKC) in St. Paul, Minnesota. This course was led by Pavel Tsatsouline. He has also learned from his friend and Coach, Britt Buckingham, an avid kettlebell lifter, and former strength coach and weightlifting competitor, from Auburn, AL. In May 2010, he completed a Bodyweight Certification with Mr. Steve Maxwell. He enjoys bodyweight exercise, and also blending it with kettlebell training. In the Spring of 2012, he completed the IKFF Level 1 Kettlebell Certification, with Mr. Ken Blackburn, and is part of a small group of IKFF Representatives in the New Orleans Metro. A practitioner of Judo since 1996, he stays active in the grappling arts, and uses the kettlebell, barbell, and bodyweight exercises, to stay in shape. He enjoys teaching others how to properly use the kettlebell and bodyweight lifts, and currently teaches the Advanced Kettlebell class every other Monday night. Casey Miller is a registered dietitian and personal trainer in New Orleans, Louisiana. She received a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Foods from Texas State University, where she also completed her internship. She also has a Bachelor of Arts in English Writing from St. Edward’s University. Before moving to New Orleans, she lived in Puebla, Mexico and worked in the nutrition department at Hospital para Nino Poblano. She is passionate about helping others reach their full potential by achieving their goals and following their dreams. Casey’s main area of interest is behavioral change, in respects to weight loss. She is involved with a number of organizations around the city of New Orleans: Jewish Community Center, Grow Dat, and Common Ground Health Clinic. More than anything, she loves to cook and share her creations with others in hopes of inspiring them to incorporate tasty yet healthy foods in to their daily routine.
